CONSERVATORSHIP INFORMATION
Q. What is a Conservatorship?
A. A Conservatorship is the
Court-supervised proceeding, initiated when a person
is unable to provide for his/her own personal care,
or management of his/her assets. The Conservator of
the Person arranges for and supervises medical care,
physical care, appropriate medications,
psychological or psychiatric care, and arranges for
appropriate living situation, etc. The Conservator
of the Estate manages the assets of the Conservatee.
A surety bond is required of all Conservators of the
Estate, based upon the liquid assets and annual
income of the Conservatee. Periodic accountings are
to be made to the Court of all receipts,
disbursements, sales, and other transactions
involving the Conservatee’s assets.
